چکیده

This position paper argues that Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) is currently the best tool to prototype Object-Oriented Concurrent Programming (OOCP). Three aspects are considered: implementation, description ability, and programming environment. The Actalk system (which stands for actors in Smalltalk) is used along the discussion as an example supporting our position statement. The tutorial on Concurrent ObjectOriented Programming in this conference has also been based on such an approach.

Object-Oriented Concurrent Programming: Introducing a New Programming Methodology

This paper discusses the introduction of new programming methodologies to computer science and practice. Programming is ongoing deep evolution because the use of computers is getting larger and wider. As a consequence, programs are becoming more complex, dynamic, and resource demanding. This implies new methodologies to help decomposing large and complex programs and running them e ciently onto...

OWL-Full Reasoning from an Object Oriented Perspective

Bridging the gap between OWL and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages is an indispensable condition to enable the Object-Oriented Modeling in Software Engineering by OWL. However it is very difficult in case of static OOP languages like Java and C#. We have developed SWCLOS, which is an OWL processor seamlessly built on top of Common Lisp Object System (CLOS), a dynamic OOP language. SWC...

Using Metamodeling to Analyze the Fit of Object-Oriented Methods to Languages

The objective of this paper is to describe a metamodelling approach towards evaluating the jlt of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) methodologies to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages. Metamodelling has been applied successfully to evaluate and integrate OOAD methodologies. In this research, the use of metamodelling is extended to describe OOP languages. This paper describes a...

A Comparison of NOOP to Structural Domain-Theoretic Models of Object-Oriented Programming

Mainstream object-oriented programming (OOP) languages such as Java, C#, C++ and Scala are all almost entirely nominally-typed. NOOP is a recently developed domain-theoretic model of OOP that was designed to fully include nominal information found in nominally-typed OOP. This paper compares NOOP to the most widely known domain-theoretic models of OOP, namely, the models developed by Cardelli an...

Z Specification of Object Oriented Constraint Programs

Object oriented constraint programs (OOCPs) emerge as a leading evolution of constraint programming and artificial intelligence, first applied to a range of industrial applications called configuration problems. The rich variety of technical approaches to solving configuration problems (CLP(FD), CC(FD), DCSP, Terminological systems, constraint programs with set variables, . . . ) is a source of...
